XenoDream X - 3D modeling and fractals

XenoDream X is a tool and a toy to create and explore an endless variety of shapes, color and texture them to your heart's content, and create images or export objects. It is all interactive, with no coding or scripting.

Technically, it's a procedural modeler with fractal capabilities. It can render images using a depth buffer, shadow maps and deferred shading. It can export depth maps, meshes and point clouds.

XenoDream X is the next generation of XenoDream, redesigned with a new UI, advanced capabilities and full multi-threading.

See XenoDream v2.7 vs XenoDream X for the essential differences and if you have already used XenoDream, what you need to know (it is not fully compatible.)

A trial version is available on the Downloads page.

See What's new in XenoDream X for features in the most recent versions.

Create objects and scenes

Create and explore objects and scenes, from simple to extraordinary.

See Types of objects and how you make them for more details.

A variety of camera types can be used for the view. At present there are Orthographic, Perspective, Fisheye, Panoramic, Inverse Panoramic and Reverse Perspective. Stereo options are available for Orthographic, Perspective and Reverse Perspective.

Environment and materials for images

Set the backgrounds, light sources and materials used to render images, with large pane preview.

Backgrounds can be panoramic or camera view. Light sources include distant, spotlight and point lights. Materials can have multiple layers and textures for a wide range of effects.

See Environment and Materials for more details.

Export meshes and point clouds

Convert objects to meshes to save in OBJ, STL, PLY or PovRAY formats. Vertex coloring is optional, for OBJ and PLY formats.

The process has been improved from XenoDream 2.7, with twice the resolution.

See Exporting Meshes for more details.

Create unique animations

XenoDream X uses a timeline with independent tracks and keyframes for highly flexible morphing.

Animations can import mesh or point cloud sequences to process them further.

See Animation for more details.
