don't know how to insert an image, other than create a link to an image, stored elswhere
can anyone explain ( step by step) how to insert an image in a new thread?

Juliette, it's the same as for inserting the xep file. Upload the attachment, then the Insert Attachment button appears, and clicking it inserts the [Attachment=xxx] text into the post. But pics are limited to 500kb at present.
